Jana Heetland - Lead Designer, Team Advisor & Owner

Hi!  Allow me to introduce myself, I’m Jana, the owner and operator of White Sage Event Rentals & Floral Arts.  I am the woman with the plan & the passion who will help take the ideas you share with me and turn them into the event of your dreams.  As I mentioned earlier, I have always had this lifelong dream of turning my love of event design into both of my most favorite aspects  of any event; Namely the decor and the amazing florals!  Obviously these really are the 2 most fun parts of planning almost any event, right??  

I began my journey in So Cal. where I learned the basics of coordinating & executing events on large private yachts in Newport Beach harbor.  I was lucky to find a friend who owned an event planning company who taught me the in’s and out’s of coordination and event design. 

Next, I found myself moving to the island of Oahu, HI quite unexpectedly!  After living there for roughly a year, I started my first business - Exquisite Hawaiian Weddings & Event Production.  This was a blast and you can read more about this whole experience by clicking “here”, but for now I will just go on with my basic bio!  I started out just planning and coordinating events on most of the islands, but found that I was often disappointed with the flowers that were delivered on wedding days. Even with hours of in person meetings and what I thought back then, was plenty of communication, things just weren’t what I imagined them to be. 

I really had no idea about flower design at the time,  but I knew I wanted to pursue it and learn as much as possible.  I slowly began doing small flower jobs for my events and over time went from just planning & coordination to those as well as  floral design.  Whew!  That was a tough experience!  But I persisted…. More on that later in the blog…. 

After about 7 years, I found myself torn and wanting to return to the mainland to be closer to my family.   This was when I found Sedona, and have lived here ever since.  I was so happy to be allowed to work and perfect my flower skills while serving as the Wedding Specialist for a large local shop whose emphasis on training and education allowed me to learn as I worked. 

And then, the pandemic appeared, and I found myself thinking of what and how could I bring my dream to life?   To be totally honest, I am really not the kind of person who loves working for someone else so that they can grow their bank accounts with so very little going into mine. 

So by with, and what, I would call some type of “divine intervention” l took the leap and have been moving the pendulum of life into focus on this new endeavor.

My passion for learning my craft of flower design has been in gear for the last 10 years.  And now, my drive and newly actionized desire is finding unique & one of a kind pieces, along with a modern mix of furniture for lounge settings, bars, backdrops, decorative items, table top decor, ceremony structures, runners, candles, vases, and more!  I am growing the inventory day by day!  But I am making it happen and turning my intention towards creating the most perfect situation for combining these two passions into Sedona’s first Boutique Event Rentals & Artistic Floral Design into one! 

If you have a certain design or item in mind that you don’t see on the website or in our current inventory, please just ask me about it.  Since I am fairly new and looking to grow my inventory, it may work out that I could custom build the item or find something to purchase for you.
